Since our establishment in 1995, our company has been able to reach its 30th year this year, receiving unwavering support from all of you, with the motto “Gratitude for life, contributing to society”. We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude. When we started, the advent of Windows 95 and the Internet brought about significant changes to society as a whole and the way we work. As we entered the 2000s, advances in data analysis technology led to progress in genome analysis, and basic research and medical technology around the world made remarkable progress. It was truly the dawn of a new era.
Now, the advancement of artificial intelligence, including generative AI, is bringing about significant changes to our lives and the translation and writing services we provide. On the other hand, as business globalization progresses, what is required is a faster response. To solve this problem, we have utilized AI to achieve stable quality and shorter delivery times.
With the mission of supporting the development of new drugs and medical technology, we have received various requests and opportunities from all of you over the past 30 years. We would like to express our deep gratitude for all of them.
We will continue to refine our technology to improve the quality of our services and continue to evolve. And we will do our utmost to meet your expectations.

We have released a special 30th anniversary website. The concept of this site is “bridge”. We want to be a bridge between our partners, such as translators, and our clients. We also hope that this site will serve as a bridge from the past to the future.

このたびASCAは、ChatGPTをチームで活用するためのビジネスアシスタントアプリケーション、 GenTA（Generative AI Technology Assistant）を開発いたしました。今後このツールを皆様にもご利用いただくため、モニターとしてお試しいただける方を若干名募集いたします。このGenTAの特徴や機能などについて詳しく解説します。
Congratulations to ASCA on it’s 30th anniversary. ASCA has been serving as a bridge for Science/AAAS in Japan. It has been a mutually beneficial collaboration with a shared vision to help the Japanese research community. In the early days ASCA helped AAAS to gain awareness within the Japanese scientific community. Starting in 1997 ASCA translated the Science Japanese version and in 1999 started taking on marketing and support for AAAS members within Japan. Fast forward ASCA has taken on advertising and sponsorship projects along with support of our prize program in Japan. I would like to point out ASCA has helped with setting up the AAAS summit meeting in Japan which is a forum for international dialogue on the state of Japan science.
Our goal is to listen and share ideas to help researchers and organizations better the Japanese scientific enterprise. ASCA shares this vision. I may not have known ASCA for 30 years but I am happy to have ASCA as a partner. Congratulations again on a very special 30th anniversary.
インフルエンザなどのいろいろな感染症に注目が集まりだした頃、大阪の製薬メーカにInfection Control & Hospital Epidemiologyの日本語版を作ってHPのキラーコンテンツの提案を一緒に始めましたよね。版権管理、コーディネーションなどを弊社でやって、トップの先生方に論文の選定と最後の監修、ASCAさんには翻訳と品質管理をお願いして、タイムリーに日本語で重要文献を届けるというものでした。 残念ながら最初のプロジェクトは会社都合で中止にはなりましたが、その後、医療機器、感染対策ビジネスをされている会社などに、感染関連の様々なトップジャーナルを会社に合わせて提供しました。
Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO)プロジェクトは忘れられません。癌と言えば、という大御所の先生に編集長をお願いし、それぞれの分野のトップの先生にご協力を仰ぎながら最高レベルの翻訳コンテンツを提供していたと自負しています。大御所の先生に、病院の会議室でどなられた時だけはさすがにめげましたが。それでも最後はいい企画だったと惜しんでいただいたのは、仕事冥利に尽きる出来事でした。
2003年、東京で開催された“ゲノム創薬”の会議でScience初の姉妹紙、Science STKE（現在のScience Signaling）のエディターであったNancy R. Gough氏の講演に聞き入りました。そこでNancy氏を紹介してくれたのが当時Scienceの日本での窓口をしていたASCAの石岡さんです。
時まさに産業界、アカデミアもゲノム創薬を目指す機運が高まっていた頃です。講演会は活気がありました。This is it! だったのです。当時マーケティングの組織を立ち上げたばかりで、私には国外からのシグナル研究の成果や研究試薬の紹介が数多く届き、販売促進の責任も小さくありませんでした。実は怖いものもなかったようです。ホットな研究領域の議論の場を後援することで企業価値を高めることはアリです。石岡さん曰く、「日本でScience STKEはほとんど知られていない。Science誌の日本語版HPは既にできていたので、同じようにScience STKE日本語版HPを作ったら面白いかも」と具体案がすぐに出てきました。私にすればネットを活用する顧客戦略のための大きなチャレンジでしたが、他社にはまねができない、上司に文句を言わせないことができると信じました。石岡さんの提案に乗ることに躊躇はなかったですね。Science STKE日本語版HPは、Scienceとの交渉を経て12月には公開になったのです。短期間、低予算、姉妹紙でのこうしたプロジェクトの前例はなかったものの、石岡さんの熱意がScienceを動かしたのだと思います。今も続くプロジェクトです。
